Your choice of builder makes all the difference in successfully making your ideas a reality.
A personal recommendation is always a good way to find a builder but reputable trade bodies such as the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) can also help. Members of the FMB are vetted and inspected every 3 years. www.fmb.org.uk
Have you seen some work carried out locally that you like? Look out for the builder’s van or signboard.
Don’t choose a contractor purely based on price. Trust and professionalism are priceless!
If you’ve narrowed down your choice, get references from the builders and follow up on them. Their best advert is a happy client.
Once you have selected your builder, get a contract. FMB registered builders have access to standard, clearly explained contracts that protect both parties.
